Fulham midfielder Tayo Edun joins Ipswich Town on loan

Championship side Ipswich Town announce the signing of Fulham and England Under-20 midfielder Tayo Edun on a season-long loan.

Ipswich Town have announced the signing of Fulham midfielder Tayo Edun on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old made two Championship appearances for the Cottagers last season and also featured twice in the EFL Cup.

Edun has represented England up to Under-20 level and was part of the Young Lions squad that won the European Under-19 Championship last year.

"Paul [Hurst] is someone that I've been looking to work with for a while now so I'm really happy to get the move done," Edun told the official Ipswich website.

"I saw some of the work he did at Shrewsbury with young players - he launched their careers to some degree so I'm hoping for something similar here.

"First impressions with Paul and the coaching staff have been really good. They seem very positive and I think I will learn a lot from them."

Edun is likely to make his debut in Saturday's Championship match against Blackburn Rovers after paperwork was completed before Friday's midday deadline.
