Cody McDonald has revealed that he is close to signing a new contract with Gillingham.
The 28-year-old's current deal at the Priestfield Stadium is due to expire at the end of the season.
However, the striker has confirmed that discussions over an extension to those terms are ongoing, with a resolution expected shortly.
"It is still ongoing and there are just a little loose ends. With the chairman out of the country it is a little awkward," he told Kent Online.
"There are emails going backwards and forwards with my agents and it shouldn't take long from now. I am enjoying my game and the sooner we get it done the better."
McDonald, who joined the Gills from Coventry City in 2013, has scored 16 goals this season.
