Hull City manager Steve Bruce has claimed that he wants Abel Hernandez to spearhead his side's attack as they bid for an immediate return to the Premier League.
Hernandez only moved to the KC Stadium from Palermo for a club-record fee last summer, but despite reports linking him with a return to Serie A, Bruce insists that he has no intention of allowing the Uruguayan to leave.
"We have had no offers for Abel. There's all this nonsense going around that we'd loan him out, but we don't have to do that," the Hull boss told reporters.
"He can conjure a goal out of nothing, and I want the transfer window to close with Abel still here."
Hernandez scored four goals in 25 Premier League appearances last season.
