Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte has publicly called for forward Alexis Sanchez to improve following a poor spell of form in front of goal this campaign.
The 32-year-old filled in for the injured Romelu Lukaku for Inter's Coppa Italia semi-final first leg against Juventus on Tuesday and despite having several chances to score, the Chilean failed to covert in a 2-1 defeat.
Conte was a frustrated figure on the touchline as Inter were defeated by his former club and believes that Sanchez need to improve in front of goal if he wishes to stay in the team.
"I don't know if he was tired, of course he tried to give his best in the game, but he has to be more clinical when it comes to scoring goals," Conte told reporters.
"Numbers for [judging] the strikers are merciless, and his numbers must be better."
Sanchez has made 21 appearances in all competitions for the Italian giants this campaign, but he has only managed to find the back of the net twice, in comparison to teammate Lukaku, who has 20 goals having made only five more appearances than the Chilean.
