Ian Holloway: 'Luke Varney should have been sent off'

Ian Holloway feels that Luke Varney deserved to be sent off during yesterday's Crystal Palace's encounter against Leeds United.

Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has insisted that Leeds United attacker Luke Varney should have been red carded during yesterday's match at Selhurst Park.

Varney committed fouls on both Jonny Williams and Stephen Dobbie before he was eventually cautioned for diving inside the area.

However, Holloway has claimed that the yellow card should have been his second of the match.

"I saw Luke Varney foul Jonny Williams from behind, a blatant yellow card and the ref didn't give him one. Two minutes later he dives and he gives him one for that, and he should have been off," he is quoted as saying by the club's official website.

The match ended in a 2-2 draw.
