Leicester City boss Claude Puel reveals that midfielder Vicente Iborra could miss the rest of the season with a hamstring injury.

Leicester City boss Claude Puel has revealed that midfielder Vicente Iborra could miss the rest of the season with a hamstring injury.

Iborra pulled up midway through the Foxes' 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday and was replaced by Under-23s captain Hamza Choudhury.

Puel told talkSPORT that he is confident that Choudhury can step in for his side, with Daniel Amartey and Matty James also ruled out with injury.

"I think perhaps we lost Iborra until the end of the season," the manager said. "Iborra has a hamstring injury and we have to see. He will be examined and undergo tests tomorrow but we are unlucky at this end of the season with our midfielders.

"It is a good thing now to have a young player like Choudhury. I think he is perhaps the only satisfaction from the game today because he came into the game with good quality, aggressiveness and tempo.

"He worked very hard and cut out a lot of dangerous balls for us because we pushed a lot in the second half. It was a good performance."

Choudhury could make his full debut for the club next week, when Leicester face Burnley.
