Adam Lallana: Christian Benteke is a "predator"

Adam Lallana hails Liverpool teammate Christian Benteke as a "predator" after the striker's first goal in the 1-0 win against Bournemouth.

Adam Lallana has hailed Liverpool teammate Christian Benteke as a "predator" after the £32.5m striker marked his Anfield debut with the winning goal against Bournemouth on Monday.

The Belgian's first goal for his new club was enough for Brendan Rodgers's men to maintain their perfect start to the new campaign, and England international Lallana was delighted with the ex-Aston Villa star's contribution against the newly-promoted Cherries.

"It was a real poacher's finish. It was a great ball in from Hendo (Jordan Henderson) and Benteke is a predator in the box," he told reporters.

"That finish was brilliant technically – getting good contact on the ball like that. He almost got another one at the end when he hit the crossbar. That's what he's all about.

"He's a big presence up there. He's great in the air and good with his feet. He brings teammates into play."

Rodgers's men continue their campaign with a visit to Arsenal on Monday.
