Antolin Alcaraz claims that Wigan will treat their remaining fixtures as cup finals.

Wigan Athletic defender Antolin Alcaraz has said that he and his teammates will treat each of their remaining fixtures as a cup final.

Alcaraz, whose side have just one win so far in 2012, insists that the club are confident of taking all three points against Liverpool at Anfield this weekend after the Reds lost to fellow relegation battlers Queens Park Rangers in midweek.

"We're confident we can go to Anfield and take three points this weekend," he said.

"We deserved three points against Norwich and West Brom but things like this happen in football sometimes and we can't allow it to affect future performances.

"We'll approach each game as though it's a cup final, starting with Liverpool because these nine games that we have left are the biggest in our careers."

Wigan are second from bottom in the Premier League ahead of this afternoon's action.
