Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has said that he is "ready" for the new Premier League campaign to get underway.
The 26-year-old has been plagued by injuries in recent seasons, being limited to just 18 Premier League starts over the past two campaigns but still managing to score 12 goals.
However, he insists that he is feeling "positive" ahead of the upcoming season and believes that the seven new signings will help the club push for a return to the upper echelons of the table.
"I think with the signings that we've made, we've kept the core group together," he told the club's official website.
"I'm sure we'll be in good stead for the season, I'm looking forward to it. I'm positive, I'm excited and I'm ready."
Liverpool begin the new campaign away to Arsenal on Sunday, August 14.
