Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has stressed that it is time for teammate Adam Lallana to show what he is capable of.
The England international had a stuttering debut season for the Reds in the 2014-15 campaign because of various injuries.
During this summer's pre-season outings, the 27-year-old has impressed and managed to score twice during the team's tour of the Far East and Australia.
"Come the first game of the season I'm sure he will be flying," Henderson told LFCTV. "I've told him that I'm expecting big things from him this season.
"It's a big season for him, he knows that, but I'm sure he's got more than enough ability and enough work rate to achieve that."
Liverpool will begin their campaign on August 9 away to Stoke City, who shocked the Merseyside outfit on the final day of last season with a 6-1 victory at the Britannia.
