Liverpool forward Sadio Mane says that he 'loves' Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino as he hits back at claims that disharmony has crept into their game.

Sadio Mane has knocked back suggestions of disharmony among Liverpool's forward trio by insisting that the team always comes first.

The Senegal international was criticised during the Reds' 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month for failing to pass to Mohamed Salah alongside him.

Mane and Salah have combined regularly in front of goal this season, though, creating more chances for each other than any other Premier League pairing, and the 26-year-old is adamant that he has a good understanding with both Salah and Roberto Firmino.

"As a football player this is normal," he told Liverpool's matchday programme. "People will say 'Yeah he should have passed', but this is one thing I never mind.

"In football you will find this [criticism] here and it will always be here, but I'm always focused on what I am doing for my team to win games.

"You always have to make decisions and I try to make the best decisions for the team. I'm not thinking about targets or 'he should score' or 'I should score'.

"Always the team is more important than me or any players, and I always celebrate a goal or assist - although people say I always copy my teammates! Of course I love them and I honestly don't mind whoever scores a goal. For me it is about the team, it doesn't matter who scores."

Mane has four goals in all competitions this season, compared to three each for Salah and Firmino.
