Atletico Madrid defender Javier Manquillo has revealed that he prefers the atmosphere at the Vicente Calderon over Liverpool's Anfield.
The Spanish right-back spent last season on loan at Anfield before having the two-year deal cut short in the summer, and Manquillo, who has since joined Marseille, has claimed that the crowd on Merseyside were often subdued.
In an interview with La Provence, the Spaniard said: "In terms of atmosphere, Marseille and Atletico are very similar.
"The songs and the noise lasts the entire match. At Liverpool, it is quieter. They start by singing, but the atmosphere drops off after.
"Really honestly, I prefer the atmospheres at Madrid and Marseille."
Manquillo is on a season-long loan deal with Marseille.
