Liverpool duo Diogo Jota and Jordan Henderson emerge as fresh injury doubts for Saturday's Premier League clash with Brentford at Anfield.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Diogo Jota and Jordan Henderson are both injury doubts for Saturday's Premier League clash with Brentford at Anfield.

Both players took part in Wednesday's 1-0 success over Fulham, where Henderson returned to the first XI over Harvey Elliott and completed the full 90 minutes.

Meanwhile, Jota was passed fit to make the bench for the second game running and replaced Darwin Nunez with seven minutes remaining, having also come on as a substitute to score a last-gasp winner against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

However, the Portuguese attacker has been dealing with a back problem since last month's victory over West Ham United, and Klopp revealed that he had only been restricted to parts of training on Thursday.

In addition, Henderson has been sent for scans on a minor unspecified problem, which Klopp admitted may be significant enough to rule him out of Saturday's match.

"Diogo has his back issue, bruised rib. He could train yesterday but he didn't do a lot, to be honest. He was not really in danger yesterday for any kind of contact or stuff like this, so we have to see there," Klopp said in his pre-game press conference.

"Hendo, we have to see. He had yesterday a scan, didn't see the results yet. It will not be a big thing but maybe it's enough to rule out for tomorrow – I don't know that yet."

Liverpool have already been coping without Calvin Ramsay and Stefan Bajcetic due to season-ending knee and adductor injuries, while Roberto Firmino and Naby Keita have been dealing with muscular problems in the past few weeks.

Firmino, who is confirmed to be leaving the club when his contract expires this summer, was initially only expected to be out for three games with a muscular problem, but his issue is proving more difficult than initially anticipated to overcome.

As a result, the Brazilian is yet to return to team training, while Keita also remains unavailable amid concerns that he may have also played his final game for the Merseyside club.

Additionally, Klopp confirmed reports stating that Thiago Alcantara will miss the rest of the campaign due to hip surgery, but the Spaniard should return for the pre-season period.

"Bobby is not yet in team training. We hope that he can start next week with team training. Now we have obviously Thiago, he will have the surgery and is out for the rest of the season," Klopp added.

Liverpool will go in search of a sixth consecutive victory this weekend, having risen up to fifth in the Premier League table courtesy of successive wins over Leeds United, Nottingham Forest, West Ham, Tottenham and Fulham.

The Reds remain four points behind Manchester United in the final Champions League position thanks to the Red Devils' 1-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion on Thursday, but Erik ten Hag's side still have a game in hand.
