Liverpool reportedly prepare new deals for midfield duo Fabinho and Georginio Wijnaldum, the latter of whom is out of contract at Anfield next summer.

Liverpool duo Fabinho and Georginio Wijnaldum are reportedly both in line for new deals at Anfield.

Fabinho has often been deployed in the heart of defence for the Reds amid their injury crisis this term, and the Brazilian has put in consistent performances for Jurgen Klopp's champions since arriving from Monaco.

Wijnaldum, meanwhile, is now in the final year of his Anfield deal and has been linked with a move to Barcelona, where he would reunite with former Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman.

According to The Guardian, Liverpool are hoping to tie Fabinho and Wijnaldum down to new deals as a matter of urgency, with the former under contract at Anfield until 2023.

The report claims that Fabinho is set for a significant pay hike in a new deal which will run until 2025 or 2026, but Wijnaldum is still unsure where his future lies and is yet to be convinced that he will have an important role to play at the club.

Fabinho and Wijnaldum both played the full 90 minutes in Liverpool's 4-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, with the latter notching up the Reds' second goal in front of 2,000 fans.
