Lille refuse Liverpool chance to recall Divok Origi in January

Lille director Jean-Michel Vandamme says that it is "impossible" for Divok Origi to join Liverpool in January due to the loan agreement.

Lille director Jean-Michel Vandamme has revealed that it is "impossible" for Divock Origi to join up with his new club Liverpool in January.

The 19-year-old signed for the Reds in the summer, but was immediately loaned back to the French club for the season.

Reports this week have claimed that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers wants to recall the striker in the winter window due to his side's failure to launch a major goalscoring threat.

However, according to The Express, Vandamme has said: "It's impossible. He will stay here until June."

Currently, Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge is nursing a thigh problem, while Mario Balotelli has struggled to find form in front of goal having only scored once since moving from AC Milan in the summer.
