Liverpool 'not interested in selling Real Madrid target Fabinho'

Liverpool have ruled out the departure of 25-year-old midfielder Fabinho to Real Madrid this summer, according to a report.

Liverpool have no interest in selling Real Madrid target Fabinho, according to a report.

Rumours had circulated in South America that the Brazilian was to join Real Madrid in a deal worth an initial £59m.

El Colombiano had reported that Fabinho was to sign a five-year contract at the Bernabeu, having briefly played there in 2013.

According to the Liverpool Echo, however, the 25-year-old will definitely be staying put at Anfield this season.

Fabinho played 67 minutes on Sunday as Liverpool faced Manchester City in the Community Shield, with the Reds going on to lose 5-4 on penalties after a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Wembley.
