Liverpool have reportedly identified former player Suso as a possible transfer target this summer.
The midfielder initially moved to Anfield in 2010, but he made just 21 first-team appearances for the club after completing his graduation through the youth teams.
Suso left to join AC Milan in 2015, and his performances at San Siro earned him a maiden call-up to the Spain side to win his first international cap last year.
Calciomercato now reports that Liverpool are interested in bringing the Spaniard back to Merseyside after learning that his contract contains a €40m (£35.7m) release clause.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is thought to have identified Suso as a possible replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who joined Barcelona in January, while Emre Can's expected exit this summer would further increase the need for midfield reinforcements.
Suso, 24, has scored eight goals and assisted four more in 33 appearances across all competitions this season.
