Half-Time Report: Manchester City in lead, one step closer to Premier League title

Manchester City are currently leading West Ham United 1-0 in today's Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City took the lead late on in the first half of their game against West Ham United to put themselves a goal up in today's Premier League decider at the Etihad Stadium.

The home side were quick off the starting blocks, knowing that an early goal would go a long way towards getting the point needed to clinch the title.

Possession was dominated by the Citizens in the early stages, but the Hammers were steadfast at the back.

The first chance of the game fell to Manuel Pellegrini's side, David Silva lashing his volley wildly over the crossbar in the 12th minute.

Not long after, Sergio Aguero attempted a long-range effort, but opposition keeper Adrian did well to get his body behind the ball and save at the first attempt.

Midway through the first half, City left-back Aleksandr Kolarov was next to test the Hammers shot-stopper, but the Spaniard was able to tip the ball onto the crossbar.

With just six minutes left to play before the interval, another long-range effort, this time from Samir Nasri, managed to breach the away side's clean sheet, the Frenchman's shot hitting the post and nestling into the bottom corner.

If the scoreline remains the same, then City will win the title.
