Half-Time Report: Tevez cancels out Fellaini opener

Carlos Tevez scores a penalty to cancel out Marouane Fellaini's eighth goal of the season for Everton.

Goals from Marouane Fellaini and Carlos Tevez ensured that Manchester City and Everton went in level at half time.

In a quiet start at Eastlands, the home side were dealt a blow when Aleksandar Kolarov picked up an injury and was forced to make way for Pablo Zabaleta.

Everton enjoyed the majority of possession in the first half but failed to create many clear chances against a stubborn City defence.

The hosts went close to taking the lead against the run of play when David Silva launched a counter-attack but his cross was headed just wide by Edin Dzeko.

However, the champions were punished for their poor first-half performance in the 33rd minute as Everton opened the scoring.

Fellaini's powerful header was saved by Joe Hart but the Belgian was able to smash home the rebound to score his eighth of the season.

However, Fellaini soon gave the hosts a way back into the match when he pulled Dzeko's shirt inside the area, allowing Tevez to calmly convert a penalty to level the scores.
