Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Aston Villa

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League fixture with Aston Villa.

Manchester City will look to extend their unbeaten Premier League record to six matches when they face Aston Villa on Saturday evening.

The defending champions made it 13 points from a possible 15 on Wednesday as they posted a 6-0 triumph over Nottingham Forest.

However, Pep Guardiola has had to contend with a number of injury issues in recent weeks and will hope that the club's treatment room becomes less occupied as soon as possible.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their trip to the West Midlands.

Aymeric Laporte

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Aymeric Laporte is currently recovering from the knee operation that he underwent earlier this summer, and the centre-back is unlikely to be available for selection for another month or so.

Jack Grealish

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: September 3 (vs. Aston Villa)

Jack Grealish has been absent for a number of games with a minor knee issue. However, Guardiola has revealed that the playmaker is back in training and could be part of the squad for the game against his former club.

Nathan Ake

Possible return date: September 3 (vs. Aston Villa)

Nathan Ake has missed the last two matches with the muscle problem that he sustained against Newcastle United earlier this month. However, like Grealish, the defender has recently returned to training.

Kalvin Phillips

Kalvin Phillips falls under the same category as his teammates in that he has missed a couple of games but is now back out on the grass. The England international will hope to feature in one of the next two matches.
