Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola praises the level of Wolverhampton Wanderers' attacking performances in the Championship last season.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has admitted that Wolverhampton Wanderers impressed him last season.

Wolves stormed to the Championship title, but the West Midlands outfit also held City to a goalless draw in the EFL Cup before succumbing on penalties.

The two teams meet at Molineux on Saturday afternoon, and Guardiola has suggested that his side must be prepared for Wolves' quality in the final third.

At a press conference, Guardiola told reporters: "They destroyed the Championship. They made an incredible season. They play attractive football, and attack with good players, like [Joao] Moutinho.

"We knew how tough it would be last season in the Carabao Cup, and it was."

City head into the game having recorded a 6-1 win over Huddersfield Town last weekend.
