Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri insists that his side can only retain their Premier League title if they prove they have the hunger to succeed.

Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri has declared that his side must show hunger and desire in the second half of the season to successfully defend their title.

Roberto Mancini's side trail Manchester United by seven points ahead of this weekend's fixtures, and Nasri insists that City are only focused on their own form and results.

He told The Sun: "If you have a strong squad, if you have quality and you still want to win, you don't think about someone else.

"You have to be hungrier for the title, to retain any title. We are."

City face a stern test of their championship credentials on Sunday when they travel to the Emirates to take on Arsenal.
