Raheem Sterling has said that he is looking forward to playing with Jack Grealish at Manchester City, with the two players lining up in the same side against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.
Grealish operated on the left of a midfield three for the Citizens, while Sterling played high up on the same side, and the England teammates combined on a number of occasions throughout the contest.
Pep Guardiola's side ultimately suffered a 1-0 defeat to Spurs in their Premier League opener, with Son Heung-min scoring for the home side in the early stages of the second period.
Sterling, though, has taken the positives from the loss and is confident that he will form a strong bond on the field with Grealish over the course of the 2021-22 campaign.
"I have played with [Jack Grealish] a few times and it's a good one. It's still early days and we'll learn each other's game as the season goes on. Hopefully we'll play a lot more together," Sterling told Sky Sports News.
Man City will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they welcome Norwich City to the Etihad Stadium on August 21.
