Bayern Munich have reportedly turned their attention to signing Manchester City midfielder Nigel De Jong.
The German club were originally believed to be interested in taking Spanish international Javi Martinez from Athletic Bilbao.
However, Munich were put off by Bilbao's asking price for the 23-year-old, thought to be in the region of £31m.
De Jong, who plays in a defensive midfield role like Martinez, is available for a more affordable £7.8m, according to De Telegraaf.
The 27-year-old has 12 months remaining on his current contract at the Etihad Stadium.
