Andres Iniesta has insisted that he was not contacted by Manchester City regarding a potential move this summer.
Iniesta recently ended his 22-year stay at Barcelona, and it had been reported that the Premier League champions were in the hunt for the Spaniard, who has now joined Japanese club Vissel Kobe.
The 34-year-old, however, has said that City boss Pep Guardiola never contacted him over a switch to the Etihad Stadium.
"I had no offer from City, Guardiola never called me," Iniesta explained on Cadena Cope. "I have seen reports in the media that there was contact, but honestly there was no conversation.
"I was leaving Barca to leave Europe, so that would have made no sense."
Iniesta is currently with the Spain squad at the 2018 World Cup, and La Roja will open their tournament against Portugal on Friday night.
