Riyad Mahrez has revealed that he rejected interest from other clubs before joining Manchester City from Leicester City in this summer's transfer window.
Mahrez moved to City from Leicester earlier this month, and appeared for the first time for his new club in their 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in Chicago on July 20.
The 27-year-old was strongly linked with a transfer to the Etihad Stadium in January before eventually completing a move this summer, and the attacker has insisted that City were always his first choice.
"It's good to have interest from clubs, and my choice was to come to Manchester City," Mahrez told ESPN. "City is a big club. A big club with very big players and a big manager. Everything is good here to improve yourself and to win trophies."
City will face Liverpool and Bayern Munich in friendlies before taking on Chelsea in the Community Shield on August 5.
