Manchester United will be without suspended duo Lisandro Martinez and Marcel Sabitzer when they travel to Camp Nou to face Barcelona in the first leg of their Europa League playoff tie on Thursday.
Martinez accumulated three yellow cards during the group stage, while January loanee Sabitzer picked up three bookings with Bayern Munich in the Champions League, and both players will now serve one-man UEFA bans.
The Red Devils will also have to cope without five injured players including Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek, who are both sidelined with respective ankle and knee problems.
Anthony Martial (hip), Scott McTominay (muscle) and Antony (leg) all missed the 2-0 Premier League win against Leeds United on Sunday, and the trio have not been included in Erik ten Hag's 22-man travelling squad to Catalonia.
In front of goalkeeper David de Gea, centre-back Raphael Varane could return to the starting lineup at the expense of Harry Maguire after watching on from the substitutes' bench last time out, joining Diogo Dalot, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia in the back four.
Casemiro has missed the last two Premier League games through suspension, but the Brazilian – formerly of Barca's rivals Real Madrid along with Varane – is available for selection on Thursday and he is expected to join compatriot Fred in centre-midfield at the expense of Sabitzer.
Jadon Sancho was handed his first Man United start since October 19 in the win over Leeds last weekend and the winger is set to retain his place on the right flank, while Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford are also poised to start again in behind central striker Wout Weghorst.
Manchester United possible starting lineup: De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Shaw, Malacia; Casemiro, Fred; Sancho, Fernandes, Rashford; Weghorst
