Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Colchester United

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's EFL Cup quarter-final with Colchester United.

Manchester United continue their hectic schedule on Wednesday night with the EFL Cup quarter-final against Colchester United.

Having successfully reached the Europa League group stages by rotating his squad, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is likely to adopt the same strategy for the game with the League Two outfit.

However, the Norwegian still has a number of players who are bidding to return from injury, something which may be taken into consideration when selecting his squad.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest at Old Trafford.

Paul Pogba

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: December 26 (vs. Newcastle United)

Despite suggestions that Pogba has been close to a return after an ankle injury, the Frenchman is only due to begin training this week. With that in mind, the midfielder is highly unlikely to feature on Wednesday.

Eric Bailly

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: January 4 (vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers)

Bailly has missed the entire season so far after suffering knee ligament damage during the summer, but he too should be back in training this week and then it will be a case of working his way back up to full fitness.

Diogo Dalot

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: December 18 (vs. Colchester)

After returning to training last week, Dalot could be involved at some stage on Wednesday night. However, after minimal game time this season, the youngster may not be risked from the start.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: January 4 (vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers)

Like fellow long-term absentee Bailly, Fosu-Mensah is due to return to full training next week and will then focus on building fitness having not featured since suffering a serious knee injury while on loan at Fulham last season.

Marcos Rojo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: December 22 (vs. Watford)

Rojo has now been absent for a number of weeks with a muscle injury. While Solskjaer will want the Argentine available as soon as possible, he will be against taking any risks on the defender ahead of the upcoming hectic schedule.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

United have no players suspended for this match.
