Manchester City make five changes to their starting lineup as Kobbie Mainoo and Jonny Evans return to Manchester United's XI for this afternoon's derby showdown at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has made five changes to his starting lineup for the 192nd Manchester derby against rivals Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon.

After watching on from the substitutes' bench as the Citizens thrashed Luton Town 6-2 in the FA Cup on Tuesday, Ederson, Ruben Dias, Rodri, Phil Foden and Jeremy Doku all return to the first XI.

Ederson replaces Stefan Ortega between the sticks, while Dias - coming in for Manuel Akanji - joins Kyle Walker, John Stones and Nathan Ake in the back four.

Stones could drift into midfield at times to link up with Rodri, while Foden, Doku, Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne are all set to provide support in attack for Erling Haaland, who scored five goals against Luton in midweek and twice in a 3-0 win at Old Trafford earlier this season.

Man City have been boosted by the return of Josko Gvardiol, who has been named on the substitutes' bench after missing the last six games in all competitions with a ankle injury.

As for Man United, Erik ten Hag has made two changes to the lineup that began the 1-0 FA Cup win at Nottingham Forest on Wednesday, with Kobbie Mainoo and Jonny Evans taking the places of Antony and Sofyan Amrabat.

The return of Evans will see him partner Raphael Varane at centre-back and Victor Lindelof move over to left-back, as Diogo Dalot continues on the right side of a back four.

Mainoo will partner Casemiro and Scott McTominay in centre-midfield, while captain Bruno Fernandes - who will make his 150th Premier League appearance this afternoon - is set to operate on the right side of a front three next to Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford.

Both Rasmus Hojlund and Lisandro Martinez were spotted arriving at the Etihad with the Man United squad, but neither of the Red Devils duo have been selected in the matchday squad.

Manchester City: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Dias, Ake; Rodri, De Bruyne; Bernardo, Foden, Doku; Haaland
