Manchester United legend Gary Neville admits that he would like to play under Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp more than he would Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has admitted that he would like to play under Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

Neville was notorious for his anti-Liverpool sentiment during an illustrious playing career which saw him make more than 600 appearances for the Merseysiders' bitter rivals United.

The entirety of Neville's Old Trafford career was spent under Sir Alex Ferguson and, when asked to choose which of the current 20 Premier League managers he would most like to play for, the former right-back chose Klopp above Manchester City's Pep Guardiola.

"I'd probably say Jurgen Klopp. I just look at the way his teams play at this moment in time, they're adaptable," he told Sky Sports News.

"They do play with possession but they also counter-attack, they're also competitive. They're not one-trick ponies and I think it just looks like he's full of energy, full of belief, confidence, always feel like he wants to attack.

"But obviously there are other great managers in the Premier League - Pep Guardiola is one of the greatest managers of all time, but I just think Klopp is someone who would be great to play for."

Neville won 20 trophies during his time with Manchester United, including eight Premier League titles and two Champions Leagues.
