Manchester United 'angry with Jose Mourinho's talk of third Wayne Rooney bid'

Manchester United are reportedly angry with Jose Mourinho's comments that Chelsea will make a third bid for Wayne Rooney after their match on Monday.

Manchester United are reportedly growing increasingly frustrated by Chelsea's pursuit of unsettled striker Wayne Rooney.

The England international, who is believed to have been angling for a move away from Old Trafford all summer, has been the subject of two rejected bids from the Blues.

Manager Jose Mourinho suggested that the club will return with a third offer after the two sides meet on Monday evening, but United believe that his comments are an attempt to play mind games with Rooney before the Premier League clash, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Reports have claimed that the Premier League champions will remain firm on their stance that the 27-year-old is not for sale in this window.

Rooney could feature in the match, which will be United manager David Moyes's first league game at Old Trafford.
