Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly been left fuming after Bastian Schweinsteiger decided against joining Sporting Lisbon on a free transfer.
Mourinho has banished the German World Cup winner to the youth teams, recently suggesting that he will give academy players a chance before welcoming Schweinsteiger back into the senior squad.
Despite being shunned, the 32-year-old midfielder has insisted that he has no problem with the manager and remains hopeful that he can force his way back into the team.
Sporting are believed to have made an approach for Schweinsteiger, but he turned them down in favour of staying at Old Trafford, which has angered Mourinho, according to the Daily Star.
The report adds that the midfielder could pocket around £18m if he runs down his contract, which has two years remaining following his 2015 switch from Bayern Munich.
