Donny van de Beek would be prepared to play as a left-sided attacker for Manchester United if required, according to a report.

Donny van de Beek would reportedly be happy to play as a left-sided attacker for Manchester United.

The 23-year-old has made five appearances for the Red Devils since arriving over the summer but is yet to start a Premier League match for his new club.

The 20-time English champions are allegedly planning to place the Netherlands international on a specialist strength-building programme in a bid to ready him for regular action in England's top flight.

There have been suggestions that Van de Beek could be used as a left winger for United in the coming weeks, and according to the Manchester Evening News, the Dutchman is open to a positional change.

The report claims that the midfielder 'will play wherever the coach needs him', with Solskjaer previously talking-up the summer arrival's "football intelligence".

Van de Beek could start Saturday's clash with Newcastle United as Anthony Martial is suspended, while new arrival Edinson Cavani is unavailable as he continues to self-isolate after arriving from France.
