Chelsea draw up a three-man shortlist as they prepare to sign a new centre-back this summer, according to a report.

Chelsea are reportedly planning to bring a new centre-back to the club during this summer's transfer window and have already drawn up a three-man shortlist.

The Blues have impressed defensively since Thomas Tuchel's arrival, conceding just twice in 13 matches under the new manager, who has largely named three central defenders in his starting team.

However, according to The Athletic, the capital club want to sign another centre-back in the upcoming market, and three players have been identified as possible arrivals.

The report claims that Bayern Munich's Niklas Sule is on the list, while RB Leipzig's Ibrahima Konate, who has also been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal, is a target.

The final name on the list is allegedly Jose Gimenez, with the 26-year-old developing into one of the leading central defenders in world football during his time at Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea are said to be keen for Thiago Silva to stay at the club beyond this summer, though, with the Blues currently 'working to extend the Brazilian's contract', according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
