Cassiano Pereira: 'Fabio needs to play'

Fabio agent: 'QPR was the best decision'

Fabio's agent confirms that his client will be joining QPR on loan next season.

Queens Park Rangers are to sign Manchester United full-back Fabio on a season-long loan deal, according to the player's agent.

Sir Alex Ferguson has already revealed that the 21-year-old will be going out on loan next term to gain more first-team experience.

When confirming that Fabio's twin brother Rafael is close to signing a new contract extension to keep him at Old Trafford until 2016, agent Cassiano Pereira revealed that QPR are poised to win the race to take the Brazilian to Loftus Road, where he will be managed by former United striker Mark Hughes.

He told ESPN: "Fabio is a promising player and he needs to play. Because of that, Alex Ferguson suggested that he be loaned out to get more experience.

"He is a sought-after player because he is still young, and we think that his transfer to QPR was the best decision at the time.

"We received some offers from Germany and Portugal, but he preferred to stay in England to remain in touch with the country's football style and so that he would not have a problem to adapt to it when he returned to United."

Fabio has made only 53 appearances since arriving at Old Trafford in 2008.
