Financial dispute holding up Darren Fletcher's Manchester United exit?

A report claims that Darren Fletcher's move from Manchester United to West Ham United is being held up by finance issues involving the Scot's contract at Old Trafford.

Darren Fletcher's proposed switch to West Ham United has reportedly stalled due to a financial dispute with his current club Manchester United.

It has recently been reported that United have informed the Scot that he can leave on a free transfer, despite the fact that he has six months left to run on his contract at Old Trafford.

However, the club view that as a sufficient goodwill gesture for the midfielder's 11-year service and as a result, they have no plans to pay up the remainder of his deal, according to the Daily Mail.

The report adds that if an agreement cannot be reached, United manager Louis van Gaal would be happy for the 30-year-old to remain a part of his squad until the end of the season.

Talks between the Hammers and Fletcher are thought to be at an advanced stage, with the only stumbling block to the deal's conclusion being the supposed contract wrangle with United.
