Liverpool have reportedly emerged as favourites to sign Lille winger Nicolas Pepe during the summer transfer window.
Pepe has just enjoyed an impressive campaign in Ligue 1, with the Ivorian's 22 goals and 11 assists helping Lille to second place in the top-flight standings.
However, the 24-year-old is almost certain to leave Lille ahead of next season, and it appears that Liverpool have made their move to secure the attacker's signature.
According to L'Equipe, Liverpool have told Lille that they are prepared to meet their asking price, which is said to be £70m.
The report claims that Inter Milan had indicated that they were willing to spend £60m on Pepe, only for Liverpool to firm up their interest in the player.
Real Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester United have also been suggested as possible destinations for Pepe.
