Manchester United were reportedly one of 50 clubs to have scouts in attendance to watch Erling Braut Haaland during Red Bull Salzburg's Champions League clash with Genk on Tuesday night.
Haaland scored a first-half hat-trick on his Champions League debut to make it 17 goals in just nine appearances for his Austrian club during the 2019-10 campaign.
The 19-year-old is the son of former Leeds United and Manchester City midfielder Alf-Inge Haaland, while he played under United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde.
During Wednesday's press conference ahead of the Europa League clash with Astana, the Red Devils manager praised Haaland when questioned on his European treble.
According to Salzburger Nachrichten, the 20-time English champions had a scout watching the teenager in action against Genk, while 49 other clubs also had representatives at the fixture.
Haaland has previously claimed that his dream is to win the Premier League with Leeds, where his father spent three years.
