Manchester United are reportedly preparing to activate an extension in Victor Lindelof's contract to sign him to the club until the summer of 2025.
The Sweden international's existing deal with the 20-time English champions is due to expire next June, and there has been a host of speculation surrounding his future ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
However, according to the Daily Star, the Red Devils have decided to extend the central defender's contract at Old Trafford for another year, taking him until the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
The report claims that Man United are keen to keep hold of Lindelof for at least one more season, with head coach Erik ten Hag viewing him as a valuable squad member.
However, a summer exit has allegedly not been ruled out, with the English giants prepared to listen to sizeable offers for the defender.

Lindelof has been restricted to just 13 Premier League appearances during the 2022-23 campaign, with Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane forming an impressive partnership in the middle of the defence.
However, Martinez is out for the season with a broken foot, while Varane is facing a battle to return before the FA Cup final due to an ankle issue.
Lindelof has benefited from the absences of his two teammates to start Man United's last four games in all competitions, and he is again set to feature from the first whistle against Aston Villa on Sunday.
The 28-year-old made the move to Old Trafford from Benfica in the summer of 2017, and he has now represented the club on 223 occasions, scoring three goals and contributing six assists.

Speaking during the March international break, Lindelof revealed that he would consider his future at Old Trafford this summer due to his lack of action.
Man United are believed to be looking to sign another centre-back this summer, while club captain Harry Maguire is expected to be for sale due to his ongoing struggles.
Luke Shaw has played alongside Lindelof in the middle of the defence in the team's last two matches against Brighton & Hove Albion and Tottenham due to Maguire's absence.
Maguire was unavailable against Brighton in the semi-finals of the FA Cup through suspension, while a training-ground injury forced him to miss the clash with Spurs last time out.
