Manchester United will reportedly pay the transfer fee for Cristiano Ronaldo in five separate instalments that will be spread out across five years.

Manchester United will reportedly pay Juventus the Cristiano Ronaldo transfer fee across five separate instalments that will take the club five years to complete.

The Portuguese international is confirmed to be returning to Old Trafford in a deal worth €15m (£12.9m), but Fabrizio Romano has now revealed the Premier League outfit will pay the sum across five years.

The Red Devils are expected to pay Juventus €3m (£2.6m) per year until 2026, which will see five different transactions take place, although it was also noted that there are add-ons included in the deal between the two clubs.

There are up to €8m (£6.9m) add-ons included in the deal, with Romano noting that €5m (£4.3m) of those are potentially easy to reach, but the other €3m (£2.6m) are more complicated.

However, it is also believed that Manchester United's new signing will generate around £30m commercially for them during his second stint in England, with the shares in the club rising by almost 10% when he was confirmed to be returning.

The 36-year-old is now set to make his second debut for the Red Devils this weekend when they host Newcastle United in the Premier League, with Ronaldo once again donning the number seven shirt.
