Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier as a replacement for Nemanja Matic.

Manchester United have reportedly identified Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier as a potential replacement for Nemanja Matic.

United's sixth-place finish in the Premier League has resulted in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looking to reshape his first-team squad, particularly in defence and midfield.

The Times claims that Matic could be one of the players to depart Old Trafford, with Dier on the shortlist to take the place of the Serbia international.

United and Spurs are known to hold a mixed relationship behind the scenes, although the report suggests that the North-West giants are confident of being able to do business with one of their rivals.

Dier has just two years remaining on his contract - which will naturally result in interest in his signature - but Mauricio Pochettino values the England international's versatility.
