Ashley Young has completed a medical at Old Trafford ahead of his expected transfer later this week.
The Aston Villa winger is expected to sign a five-year, £17 million deal with Man United before the weekend.
Alex McLeish, manager at Villa Park, said earlier this week that he expected Young's departure imminently, adding: "In my humble opinion it will be very difficult to keep hold of him."
United striker Michael Owen said on Twitter tonight: "I see Ashley Young has undergone a medical. Let's hope everything goes well as he would be a great signing for us."
Young, 25, joined Villa from Watford in January 2007 and has since netted 30 times for the club.
