Robin van Persie a doubt for Netherlands game

Netherlands captain Robin van Persie is a doubt for their upcoming games against Hungary and Turkey after suffering a toe injury.

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie could miss the Netherlands' upcoming games against Hungary and Turkey after suffering a toe injury.

The Oranje captain sat out training on Tuesday after suffering the knock and is a doubt for their game against the Hungarians on Friday evening.

The full extent of the blow has yet to be determined, although Van Persie is unlikely to be risked with Louis van Gaal's side having already qualified for the 2014 World Cup finals.

The Turkey game will be played on Tuesday, October 15.
