Diego Fagundez strike enough for New England

Diego Fagundez's strike in the first half proves to be enough for New England Revolution to defeat Chicago Fire 1-0 at home in the MLS.

New England Revolution have carved out a narrow 1-0 victory over Chicago Fire at home in the MLS.

Diego Fagundez scored the only goal of the game at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Fagundez picked up a pass from Kelyn Rowe and fired in from 30 yards in the 17th minute.

The result had little impact on the two teams' standings in the Eastern Conference table, as Fire have already secured a playoff position while New England cannot move up from ninth place.
