Roma forward Nicolo Zaniolo has indicated that he does not wish to move to Newcastle United this summer amid rumours of a rejected bid from the Magpies, according to a report.
The 22-year-old has made 111 appearances for the Serie A club since joining from Inter Milan in 2018 for around £4m, scoring 22 goals during that time.
The Italy international was part of Jose Mourinho's side that won the Europa Conference League during the 2021-22 campaign, having recently recovered from a second serious knee injury suffered in as many years.
However, Sky Sports are reporting that Zaniolo will leave Rome this summer, whilst also stating that Eddie Howe's Newcastle have already had a bid rejected for him.
It continues with apparent interest from fellow Italian clubs Juventus and AC Milan as well, who appear more likely to acquire his signature due to his wishes of not moving to the Premier League during the transfer window, according to the report.
Newcastle look set for a busy summer window in the coming weeks, with Howe keen to capitalise on his side's financial resources by bolstering his squad ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, but whilst he looks set to miss out on Zaniolo, the former Bournemouth boss is keen to strengthen in attacking areas to ease the burden on current striker Callum Wilson.
