Norwich City keeper John Ruddy has said that he was surprised by the timing of the sacking of Chris Hughton.
Former Carrow Road boss Hughton was sacked by the club with only five games remaining in the season following a 1-0 defeat by West Bromwich Albion.
Ruddy told Sky Sports: "I think it took everyone a bit by surprise. But I am sure it is not a decision the board at Norwich took lightly.
"They deliberated over it for a long period of time and ultimately thought it was the best thing to do for the team and for the club so you cannot really question them on that.
"We have got the new manager in now and he has come in and had a positive impact so it is looking positive for the next four games."
