Nottingham Forest striker Dexter Blackstock has lodged a writ at London's High Court in an attempt to gain compensation from Seyi Olofinjana and Cardiff City after a tackle resulted in him being injured for more than a year.
Blackstock, 27, who scored the winner before being stretchered off during a match in November 2010, claims that Olofinjana, most recently of Sheffield Wednesday and now a free agent, was "negligent".
The amount has not been disclosed but exceeds £50,000, according to the writ, which is seeking damages for not being able to earn bonuses while he was injured.
Blackstock also wants the right to further compensation should the injury end his career prematurely.
