Paris Saint-Germain announce the signing of England goalkeeper Mary Earps on a two-year contract after her departure from Manchester United on a free transfer.

England Women's goalkeeper Mary Earps has completed her highly-anticipated transfer to Paris Saint-Germain Women following her departure from Manchester United Women.

After losing Alessia Russo to Arsenal on a free transfer last year, it was deja vu for the Red Devils with Earps, as the 31-year-old also left the club upon the expiration of her contract.

Attempts to tie the England international down to new terms did not lead to a positive solution, and Man United announced on Saturday that she would leave the club when her contract expired.

Following confirmation that Earps would be ending her stint in England, the shot-stopper has now been unveiled as a PSG player and has penned a two-year contract in the French capital until the summer of 2026.

Earps's switch to PSG will reportedly make the 31-year-old the highest-paid women's goalkeeper in the world, and she outlined her ambition to win "a lot of trophies" at the club following her arrival.

Earps "very honoured" to sign for PSG

"It's an incredible feeling. I'm very proud to join Paris Saint-Germain and to be able to wear this shirt," Earps said in her first interview with PSG's media channels.

"Joining Paris Saint-Germain is a fantastic opportunity. I'm very honoured to become a Parisian and I can't wait to play alongside my new team-mates. Together, we're going to give our all to help the club shine and make our fans proud. I'm determined to contribute to our future success so that Paris Saint-Germain continues to rank among Europe's top clubs.

"I love the club's vision. When you see the ambitions, the goals that the team sets itself...The club wants to become the best in Europe, maybe even the world.

"I have the same aspirations, and I want to play for the best teams in the world. I want to win a lot of trophies. That's a real objective of the club, and I'm looking forward to being part of this project.

"I've watched a lot of French league games in recent months. It's interesting to see how much it has changed, with this new format and the play-off tournament. It's a very competitive league with some very good teams. And I'm looking forward to discovering it."

Earps's switch to PSG is not the first time that the England international has tried her hand at foreign football, having represented German outfit Wolfsburg for one season in the 2018-19 campaign.

The 31-year-old swiftly returned to her homeland with Man United - at that time a newly-promoted Women's Super League club - and ended up making 125 appearances for the Red Devils in all tournaments.

Earps won her first and only trophy with Man United in the 2023-24 Women's FA Cup, while she also shone for England during their Euro 2022 triumph and run to the 2023 World Cup final.

The goalkeeper has a host of individual accolades to go alongside her team honours, being named The Best FIFA Women's Goalkeeper in 2022 and 2023 and also winning the BBC Sports Personality of the Year in the latter year.

A 50-cap England international, Earps has also represented Leicester City, Nottingham Forest, Doncaster Rovers Belles, Birmingham City, Bristol Academy and Reading during her glittering career.
