Plymouth Argyle manager praises side for late comeback

Plymouth Argyle still have hope of making the League Two playoff final, says manager John Sheridan after they launch a late first-leg comeback against Wycombe.

Plymouth Argyle manager John Sheridan has warned Wycombe Wanderers that his side believe that they can reach the League Two playoff final when they meet in the second leg on Thursday.

The Pilgrims trailed 3-0 in the first leg, but hit back late on thanks to goals from Zak Ansah and Jason Banton which have given them a chance of reaching Wembley in a fortnight.

Sheridan told Sky Sports News: "We made it tough. I was pleased with the way we played in the first half but to find ourselves 2-0 down we were struggling and then you go three [down] and you're down and out.

"But credit to the players they responded well and they've given us a chance. We can go there believing. It's 3-2 and we're right back in the tie now."

The winner will play either Southend United or Stevenage in the final for a place in League One next season.
