Ben Gladwin makes Queens Park Rangers switch

Ben Gladwin joins Massimo Luongo in making a switch from Swindon Town to Queens Park Rangers on a three-year deal.

Queens Park Rangers have completed a double swoop on Swindon Town by signing versatile youngster Ben Gladwin.

The 22-year-old, who played a key part in the Robins' League One promotion push this term, joins teammate Massimo Luongo in making a switch to Loftus Road for an undisclosed fee.

Gladwin scored eight goals in Swindon's final 11 games to see his name linked with an array of teams, but QPR have now won the battle for his signature.

"I'm really pleased to be joining the club – and I'm really excited," he told his new side's official website. "There was interest from the Premier League but for me, personally, I think this move is a little more realistic at this stage of my career.

"Playing is what it's all about. Sitting on the bench is no way to improve your game. Chris Ramsey is a fantastic coach and I'm sure he'll improve me on the training pitch.

"I spoke to him earlier this week and was hugely impressed by what he had to say and where he sees me fitting in. Everyone I've spoken to about QPR said it would be a good move for me. I can't wait to get going here."

Gladwin joined Swindon from Marlow in November 2013, following spells with a host of non-League clubs.
